ADM John “Boomer” Stufflebeem

“Boomer” is a Certified Professional Master Business Coach (CPMBC) and Certified Professional Business Leader (CPBL), and an associate of Diversified Professional Coaching, LLC (DPC) of Orlando, Florida. He is also an independent consultant and owner of the NJS Group, LLC, a strategic leadership and crisis management consulting firm based in Alexandria, Virginia, where he specializes in crisis management, transition coaching, leadership development, and organizational
effectiveness.

John currently serves as Chairman and Executive Director of the Lowcountry Veterans Support Foundation (LVSF) in Bluffton, SC, serving the program needs of U.S. military members, veterans, first responders, and their spouses. He also recently joined the Operation Patriots FOB Board of Directors, where his extensive leadership, governance, and organizational experience will help strengthen board engagement, advance organizational effectiveness, and move the OPFOB mission forward.

He previously was a founding partner of BOW 21, LLC of McLean, Virginia, committed to developing and building a Comprehensive Head, Neck, and Spine Center of Excellence to treat Traumatic Brain Injury of the most at-risk groups of suicide in America today, former NFL Players and Special Operations Warriors/US Military Veterans, and emergency services First Responders. He was also previously a partner in On Message Media in British Columbia, Canada, providing media training to business executives and owners in North America, and continued this training to NFL clubs in recent years. Stufflebeem was recently the fractional Chief Innovation Officer for Velar US, a medical technology company based in Rockville, MD delivering in the world of quantum solutions to a myriad of human health needs until the untimely death of the founder.

John’s experience, expertise, and forte are in effective leadership of complex organizations and particularly ones experiencing crises. He is a former professional football player followed by a thirty-three-year career as a military officer and U.S. Navy aircraft carrier fighter pilot. He earned his nickname, “Boomer”, as a football player that followed him as a callsign into the cockpits of jet fighters deploying eleven times “down range” and more than eight years away from his family to trouble spots around the globe.

Through this journey he learned the art of elite teamwork as a football player, then as a team leader in multiple deadly crises overseas as well as in the Pentagon during the attacks of 9/11, to today as an executive and business coach. From these, he developed a passion for pinnacle leadership development and career transition, and as a calling, he forwent traditional corporate work after his military career and established his consultancy in 2008 to pursue his passion.

Since establishing his own business, he has expanded his network to give back by providing empowering coaching and mentorship to business senior executives, business owners, head coaches, athletes, and transitioning military service members in dealing with crises as well as offering teamwork mentoring, leadership training, transition coaching, and governance. As a former professional football player, he understands the needs of pro football clubs and teamwork at the elite level. As a proven combat leader and retired U.S. Navy admiral, he understands and translates the critical lessons of leadership in any dynamic environment for business.
