Mike Morrissey

Mike Morrissey served 27 years with the NYPD. He started his career at 21 years old performing patrol duties in Brooklyn and then moved on to become a member of the Street Crime Unit. A few years later, Mike was assigned to the Organized Crime Control Bureau and in 1999 Mike was promoted to Detective.

In 2004, Mike was promoted to Sergeant. Shortly after his promotion, he was assigned to the Intelligence Division where he spent the next 10 plus years working in coordination with several different units within the NYPD addressing Narcotics, Gangs and Terrorism.

Mike was also a member of the NYPD Self Support Group for over 20 years. This was a peer engagement group where it was cops helping cops get through any PTSD they were dealing with. Mike says that being a part of this group led him to want to get involved with OPFOB and our mission.
