Malfunction Junction

What to Expect:

Malfunction Junction is a full-day, hands-on tactical carbine training course focused on one outcome. When your weapon fails, you take action without hesitation. You will train to diagnose and clear malfunctions under pressure using proven techniques that hold up in real-world conditions. This course includes pistol transitions and low-light shooting to build complete malfunction response skills.

Taught by Lead Instructor Chris Sizelove. Chris brings real-world operational experience and a direct, no-nonsense teaching style that focuses on performance under stress.

This course is built for law enforcement, military, and responsibly trained civilians who need reliable malfunction response skills beyond a static range environment.

What’s Covered:

• Carbine malfunction clearance techniques under real conditions
• Pistol transitions as part of a full malfunction response
• Speed, reliability, and repeatable weapon handling
• Low and no-light malfunction drills

Required Gear:

• Carbine with optic, sling, and mounted tactical light. Zeroed prior to arrival
• 3 carbine magazines and 150 rounds of carbine ammunition
• Pistol with 3 magazines and 100 rounds of ammunition
• Belt-mounted, outside-the-waistband hard holster. No leather or cloth
• Ability to carry at least 3 rifle magazines and 2 pistol magazines on your person
• Electronic hearing protection
• Eye protection
• Tactical gloves
• IFAK and tourniquet
• Weather appropriate clothing
• Water, lunch, and snacks. You will remain on the range
• Sunscreen and insect repellent
• Pen and notebook
• Weapon support kit with lube, batteries, and tools

This is a physically demanding, hands-on training course. You will start with safety and range rules, then move directly into live training.
